The NJ Fallen Soldiers Foundation – A New Jersey Non Profit Corporation
The New Jersey Fallen Soldiers
Foundation, a non profit New Jersey corporation, has been established to create a monument that will honor the state’s
soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the cause of freedom.
The Foundation will operate as a non profit corporation,
as required by section 501(c)(3) of the United States Tax Code. It will seek to obtain charitable contributions from donors. The funds will be used to create a heroic monument that will exist in perpetuity.
The Foundation plans
on creating, and unveiling the memorial in a period of three years or less. Upon completion the Foundation realizes that on-going
maintenance will be required to preserve the condition of the memorial. Prior to completion of the memorial the Foundation
will decide whether or not to continue its operation or to dissolve and transfer remaining funds to another 501(c)(3), as
required by law.
The Foundation will also set aside funds to establish and maintain the NJFS Scholarship. This scholarship will provide tuition assistance to dependents of those that are honored.
The Board of Trustees will
create a Special Advisory Board made up of interested parties. Scope, level of effort, and qualifications for acceptance to
the Special Advisory Board will be decided by the Board of Trustees. The Special Advisory Board will determine, among other
things, 1) Location, 2) Size, and 3) Design for the memorial.
The intent is to create a memorial that will permanently
honor NJ Soldiers that have given their lives for the cause of Freedom, and to show respect to their families and friends
for the sacrifice made.
